The number of cataract surgeries has rapidly increased in the last decade. At the same time laser eyesight correction has been gaining popularity in many countries. These days there are more opportunities for our eyes to be under the Ophthalmologist’s spotlight.
We questioned whether testing monocular eyesight in opticians and clinics is precise enough to determine one’s visual condition? There are many factors which can affect eyesight quality. Takagi therefore, have developed the Contrast Glare Tester CGT-2000. This can test both monocular and binocular sensitivities to both contrast and glare. The CGT-2000 has functions to programme different environmental factors, such as the lighting conditions and variable distances. The CGT-2000 detects subtle changes in visual function that may be missed by visual acuity testing.
The CGT-2000 is particularly useful for pre- and post-cataract and refractive surgery diagnosis and observations. It has a simple touch screen operation and motorised alignment. Pupils can be monitored on screen for better accuracy ensuring a precise testing environment. You can save time by customising the required test patterns and saving them into the system while database storage allows for fast, efficient pre- and post-operative comparisons.
