Eyetec, one of our distributors had the pleasure of conducting a clinical trial for OM-19 in Germany. We would like to share the picture from the trial and highlight the special features of OM-19 Operating Microscope. Takagi OM-19 has been used in clinical trials also in Japan, and in both cases, the successful trials and positive feedback resulted in increased demand, considerably high since its recent launch.
Our product design emphasises precise engineering that is ergonomically adjustable for each surgeons’ individual preference. The special feature unique to Takagi OM-19 is the adjustable LED light intensity for both red reflex and coaxial illumination. This feature is one example of how Takagi Operating Microscope aims distinctly to place the surgeon in control. Therefore, by being able to adjust the intensity separately, the surgeon can decide the ideal operating settings depending on the surgery performed.
With such incredible adjustability, the surgeon becomes the centre of control and OM-19 will ergonomically adjust to the surgeons’ preference. This has become a turning point in engineering operating microscopes.
Our distributor Eyetec has positively reported the feedback from this trial, with emphasis on excellent illumination adjustment, precision in footswitch focus and zoom speed adjustment. Not only that, the adjustable stereoscopic 2nd observer with individual focus and magnification adjustment was recognised as a brilliant optic.
In particular, the ability to adjust the illumination level for each requested depth of anterior segment, it’s one unique feature which delivered outstanding results during the cataract surgery trial. It was identified as one of the main OM-19 benefits, optimised in comparison to OM-9. In fact, this feature is outstanding because the LEDs have a specific colour temperature for both red reflex and coaxial illumination.
